This is an INTERMEDIATE level course!

This class requires some blacksmithing experience! Come ready for some intense forging and a lot of information!

Under the guidance of some random guy from Texas, you'll start with raw metal and work through each step of the forging process—hammering, shaping, and bending—while gaining an understanding of proper tool use, safety, and blacksmithing fundamentals. By the end of the day, you will leave with a set of functional, handmade tongs tailored to your needs. Whether you're an experienced toolmaker looking to refine your skills or wanting to add to your blacksmith toolkit, this class is a perfect opportunity to make your own essential forging tool. If time permits, you will make more than one set of tongs.

Ben Snure

The Snure's have been Cowboys and Rancher since the days of Geronimo. Where Geronimo surrendered was actually on great granddad Ben Snure’s ranch. Nowadays, when Ben is not maintaining the ranch down in Texas, he's in the shop forging hammers or any kind of interesting, challenging blacksmithing. Ben got into blacksmithing through shoeing horses. He would go to Well Shod to pick up shoes and supplies and started going to a shop night that they ran. About a year later Ben started supplying hammers to Well Shod. Ben is now a well established, well respected blacksmith and toolmaker in the community, with his work in high demand.
