Brute de Forge Chef's Knife w/Wa Handle

Mastersmith Jason Knight will be teaching makers how to make a brute de forge chef's knife with a Japanese inspired Wa handle. 


The cost of the class will include tuition, material fees, as well as bagels and coffee in the morning each day. Housing and transportation options are not available at this time and are the responsibility of the student. Local housing can be found at visitandersonmadisoncounty.com

This is a BEGINNER - INTERMEDIATE level course!

This class is suitable for all skill levels! Advance your skill no matter your experience!

Some grinding experience preferred.

Day 1: Forging Blade, Rough Grinding

Day 2: Heat Treating, Handle

Day 3: Finishing and Sharpening

Makers will learn about Jason's approach to knife design. Jason's techniques for knifemaking put the maker on the most direct path from forge to finish.

Jason Knight

Mastersmith Jason Knight relocated to East Tennessee from his native state of South Carolina. He is known among custom makers and collectors as an innovator. Jason is a master of blade design and edge geometry. His influence is widespread in the knife industry. It is reflected in the work of many he has mentored over the past twenty years. He understands the value of sharing his skills and ideas with other makers. Through full-length "How To" videos that he has written and directed, teaching in his studio and at schools around the country, Jason can share his passion for knifemaking and fan that spark into flame in others.

  • We understand that sometimes circumstances change and you may need to cancel your attendance to one of our scheduled classes. However, please note that refunds are subject to the following policy:

    If you cancel your attendance more than 30 days before the start of the class, you will receive a full refund of your registration fee.

    If you cancel your attendance within 30 days of the start of the class, you will not be eligible for a refund.

    We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but please understand that our classes have limited availability and we need to ensure that all registered attendees are committed to attending.

    Class registration is non-transferable under any circumstances. The student in attendance must match the ID information of our class registration records.
