Decoding Mosaic Damascus

  • Coal Iron Works 516 Meridian Street Anderson, IN, 46016 United States (map)

Join instructor Mareko Maumasi for a seminar on Decoding Mosaic Damascus!

In this course, you will learn how material moves and forms patterns, and with that understanding, learn how to turn around and reverse engineer patterns. On day 1, you will be learning how material moves, understanding how patterns are formed, and beginning to reverse engineer patterns. And on day 2 you will be asked to bring patterns that are either your own, or other makers' patterns that you would like to better understand and we will reverse engineer them together to see how certain patterns are created.

*THIS IS A INTERMEDIATE SEMINAR STYLE CLASS*

Participants should bring some experience and expect an intense learning environment without any forging or personal project work. The purpose behind this class is to learn from the best around and get face-to-face opportunities to ask questions and better understand why and how mosaic patterns work.

This class is paired well with Marekos “Demathcus & Irregular Billet Assembly” immediately following this class.

The cost of the class will include tuition as well as bagels and coffee in the morning each day. Housing and transportation options are not available at this time and are the responsibility of the student. Local housing can be found at visitandersonmadisoncounty.com
